BARBARA BENNETT EXCELLENCE IN DIVERSITY AWARD

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Barbara Bennett Excellence in Diversity Award is to identify and recognize an outstanding school psychologist who has provided leadership and advocacy for the treatment of diverse populations with respect within the field of school psychology.

JUDGING CRITERIA

regular UASP member in good standing
adhered to the professional and ethical standards of UASP throughout career
demonstrated leadership in raising issues of diversity
promoted diversity awareness through example and mentoring of professionals and students
utilized practices that insure diverse populations are treated respectively

PROCEDURES

This award is the responsibility of the awards committee. Nomination packet should include:

completed nomination form
one page nomination statement
one to three letters of support written by individuals knowledgeable about the candidate’s capabilities
